Please note that this is not the Official firmware released by Samsung Electronics but is a custom ROM firmware released by recognized XDA developer “Kryten2k35”. Pre Requisites:
- Create a backup of all your data present in your device with the below mentioned steps manually so as to make sure that just in case if the data gets lost or corrupted, the same can be restored with the help of below mentioned steps. Don’t backup the data with the help of KIES or with other PC Suites as it may not detect the device in the custom ROM.
SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Call Log – Call Log and Restore
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
- For applying this update you will have to make sure that the device is rooted, to check on whether the device is rooted or not, you will have to download the Root Checker app from the PLAY Store to check the same. If your Galaxy S3 is not rooted, with the help of below mentioned steps you will have to root the device.

- Download the ROM Manager app from the Latest Google PLAY Store and install the same. Make sure that the minimum battery charge left is at least 30% or else device might just get turned off in the middle of firmware update.
