Procedure to update Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 with Stable Froyo DDKB1 2.2.1:
- Before you proceed for the upgradation process, you will have to first download the Firmware Zip File for your I9003 to your computer. Now, as soon as you finish the downloading process, the next step which you will have to do is to unzip the same. Once you unzip the same, you will get the files which are shown int he below screen shot. Please note that in the process of extraction if it prompts you to enter in the password then enter the password as androidadvices.com.
- Now, from the extracted files all you need to do is to open the Odin executable file. Now, after this you will have to put your phone in the download mode. For putting the phone into the download mode, you first will have to turn Off the phone and then you will have to enter the phone into the download mode by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device. Now, if you have successfully entered into the download mode then you will see a green screen which is shown below. Please note that if the device boots in the normal mode with the home screen then retry the process and if despite retrying you are unable to get into download mode then you will have to fix the download mode error for your phone.
- Now, as soon as you get into the download mode, you will have to connect the Galaxy SL I9003 to the computer with the help of USB cable while Odin opened in the desktop. As soon as you connect the phone, you will see that first ID:COM box as shown below will turn yellow and in the message box you will see that it will show ADDED as shown in the below Video.
- So, as soon as the phone is connected and ID:COM light glowing Yellow, it’s not time to select the files which are listed below. Please note that it’s very important to enter in the files as mentioned below or else you will surely brick the device. Just click on the options to select the files from the downloaded and extracted folder.

- As soon as you feed in the files, you will have to double check the same and then you will have to proceed and click on the “Start” option to start the firmware update process. After clicking on the start, you will see that the firmware will be installed in your phone within a time of not more than 5 minutes.
- Now, after sometime you will see that the Galaxy SL will be rebooting which means that the firmware update was successful and please note that you should not plug out the USB Cable from your phone till you see the home screen or the language selection screen on your Galaxy SL I9003 phone. This instruction is not being followed by most of the users and then end up having issues like bricking up device.
- So next up you will have to enter your device in the recovery mode you will have to go in the recovery mode wherein you will have to delete the cache memory so that all unwanted files are removed if there are any left in the phone. The recovery mode can be entered by referring to the simple video which has just been shooted for you so as to further simplicize things.
- For this you will have to first turn off your device, long press the volume up key, press Menu as holding both the buttons press the power button to start. You can see that after device gets switched ON, you will find options like clear cache data. You can clear that by selecting options Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition after which you need to reboot your device by selecting reboot system now after which your Galaxy SL I9003 will be rebooting and again you will have to set up your Google accounts etc. Doing this will not only optimize the battery but will also remove all the data flux from your phone.
