Guide to update XDark ICS Custom ROM Firmware:
- Assuming that you have unlocked the boot loader, download ICS based XDark Custom ROM Firmware Package in your computer and connect your device to the computer with the help of USB cable.
- Place the downloaded zip package in your Xperia PLAY. Ensure that you are not placing the file deep into the device. Now, disconnect the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play from the computer and power it off.
- Press and hold the “Search button” and while doing so, connect your device to the computer with the help of USB cable.
- Open the terminal or say command prompt in your computer by pressing the “Win + R”, enter “CMD” and hit on enter. In the command prompt, enter the below mentioned caommnds,
fastboot -i 0xfce flash boot boot.img
fastboot -i 0xfce reboot
- Once the deivce is rebooted, press the Volume Rockers a few times to boot into the ClockworkMod Recovery. With the help od Volume rocker keys and power button, you need to select the same.
- Select “Wipe Data / factory reset” and then “Wipe Cache Partition” from the recovery mode and then select the option of “Install Zip from SD Card” and “choose zip from sd card” to select the placed XDark ICS custom ROM Firmware package which you placed in the device.
- As soon as the device is updated with this ICS based XDark custom ROM firmware, the device will again land back on the recovery screen. Now, in recovery mode screen, all you need to do is to just select “Go back” and select “reboot system now” for rebooting the device. You can now disconnect the USB cable and check from the path “Settings > About Phone” to check on whether the firmware has been updated or not.
Note: If your SONY Ericsson Xperia PLAY gets in boot loop mode or gets stuck at SONY Logo, press the power button for 3- 4 seconds to turn off the device and then re follow all the instructions mentioned in this article so as to apply this ICS Custom ROM Firmware Update.
