The India based company iBall has introduced its new phones in its Andi series namely iBall Andi 5 Stallion, Andi 4U Frisbee and 3.5KKe Winner+. These devices are aimed at mainly for the budget smartphone market and will compete against the three Android One devices as well as many other. iBall has been releasing a wide range of devices in the recent past in the quest of getting some recognition in the smartphone market.
The iBall Andi 5 Stallion runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7 Processor. It has a 12.7cm (5”) FWVGA IPS display fully Capacitive Screen. The on-board memory is 4 GB (approximately 1 GB space for user and 1.5 GB for Apps) and expandable up to 32 GB. It comes with 8 MP Camera at rear with LED flash and VGA Front camera at front. On the connectivity front, it offers EDGE / GPRS GSM/WCDMA: 900/1800/2100 MHz, WI-FI 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth with A2DP, but does not support 3G. This is a dual SIM phone and runs on 1700mAh Battery. At these specifications, it would compete with Moto e and Redmi 1S.
The Andi 4U Frisbee also runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core Cortex A7 Processor. It has a 10.16 cm (4”) IPS WVGA (800×480) High Quality (233 PPI) Display Corning® Gorilla® Glass. The on-board memory is 4 GB internal storage (Approx. 2GB built-in Storage is utilized by OS and application files). It comes with 8 MP Camera at rear with LED flash and VGA Front camera at front. It has various connectivity options such as 3G HSPA+ downlink 21Mbps, uplink 5.6MbpsEdge / GPRS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth V4.0. This is also a dual SIM phone and runs on 1600mAh Battery. The smartphone is expected to come with four interchangeable battery cover.
The Andi 3.5KKe Winner + runs on Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box. It is the successor to the Andi 3.5KKe Winner. The device features a 3.5-inch HVGA (320 × 480 pixels) IPS display, powered by a 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 (unspecified chipset) processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. And 2GB of inbuilt storage that’s further expandable (up to 32 GB via microSD). It comes with a 3.2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front camera and is powered with a 1250 mAh battery on the rear.
The iBall Andi5 Stallion has been priced at Rs. 8,499, the Andi 4U Frisbee at Rs. 6,799, and the Andi 3.5KKe Winner+ priced Rs.3,399. These phones are now available on online retailer eBay India. In recent days, many smartphones were launched by all major companies in the budget smartphone segment. It would be interesting to see how these phones fares at this hotly fought segment.
