How to Install CyanogenMod on the Oppo N1 Android Phone – Guide, Tips

If you were one of those who had already bought the Oppo N1 for its excellent details and the Swivel camera on the top, and were very disappointed to see that Oppo has officially started selling a Cyanogenmod version of the same, the company has now made the CyanogenMod available for the existing Oppo N1 devices, and it isn’t a hard task for those who wanted to install it, and even if they wanted to revert back to the ColorOS, which is the official OS in the device.

Oppo N1 CyanogenMod

This is a customized version of the CyanogenMod which comes with the different hardware and software features available in the device, and the best part is that you get to see the full support for the rotating camera on the top. There is support even for the O-Touch Panel, O-Click Bluetooth remote control, and the company has even included the best ColorOS features such as the double tap to wake and screen off gestures (the one which was made famous by LG in their flagship LG G2).

Warning: This installation would delete all the data, settings, messages, contacts and the personal data although the files would be there. So, take a backup before proceeding with the other steps.

  • Copy these downloaded files to your N1
  • In the tools folder in the app drawer of your device, go to System Update application and launch it
  • Select “Local update”, browse for the file you have downloaded and press “Upgrade Now” when prompted
  • Select English in the OPPO Recovery
  • Do the Wipe data and cache
  • Select “Install from SD” and browse the file you have previously copied to your phone
  • Wait for the update to finish and then select Reboot

It is really not much hard to do when you have everything ready, and just make sure you have enough battery percentage left in the smartphone before you start the process.

Switching back to the ColorOS again is the similar and easy process where you need to have the ColorOS files, and follow the same steps as given above. Do comment below if you are stuck at some point, and need any assistance.
