CarPad is a navigation tablet for cars which is powered with Google Android operating system (ships with Android 2.2 Froyo operating system but it can be upgraded to the latest firmware whenever they are available). It has got 7 inches capacitive touchscreen display with 800 x 400 display resolution and the tablet is 3G compatible with any 3G network. It comes with pre-installed 3D GPS navigation interface which provides 3D navigation for the maps which includes house numbers, street address, city and travel guide. It has got Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. It also includes 2 mega pixel camera with video recording capabilities on the rear side but it’s not useful when you are using it in your car.
Along with that the tablet offer data connectivity via Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G UMTS, 2G GPRS with EDGE technology, and it includes 8 GB SD card memory. And provided that standalone MapMyIndia maps are available at a price of 10,000 Rs to 12,000 Rs. So generally it’s like a normal 12,000 to 15,000 Rs tablet with added MapMyIndia (pre-installed) on it. So alternatively you can buy Reliance 3G tab or Beetel Magiq tablet and install MapmyIndia on it.
