Gionee has recently launched a new smartphone in India called as Marathon M5 that comes with massive 6020mAh battery priced at Rs. 17,999. Earlier, this month the company also teased the launch of Gionee Marathon M5 Plus smartphone at an event scheduled for December 21 in China. Today, the brand has amazed everyone by launching the smaller variant of the device called as Gionee Marathon M5 Lite in China.
The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite comes with entry-level specifications and unlike the Marathon M5, it powers a smaller 4000mAh battery. The device flaunts a 5-inch (720×1280 pixels) HD display with 294 ppi as pixel density and Dragontrail Glass protection on top of it. Under the hood, is the MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz coupled with 1GB RAM, 16GB onboard storage and microSD card slot for expansion upto 128GB.
On the camera cordon, the device sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and on the front, it has a 5MP shooter for video chats and crisp selfie images. The smartphone supports dual sim dual standby and comes with standard connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and microUSB port. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Amigo 3.0 UI out of the box.
The 4000mAh battery on the device can last upto 40 hours of talk time and 39 days of standby time on a single charge. Even with the huge battery, it measures just 8.5 mm at its thickest and weighs around 185 grams. The device is currently available only in China and is priced at 999 Yuan (roughly $155/Rs. 10,400).
