Meizu recently launched a new smartphone in its new Pro series called as Meizu Pro 5. The Pro 5 comes with high-end specifications like Exynos 7420 processor, 4GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and many more and is also priced aggressively at $441.
Now, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched yet another mid-range smartphone under its Blue Charm series called as Meizu Metal in an event held on October 21 in China. Meizu’s Blue Charm series has already gained lots of appreciation in many markets. The company currently offers four smartphones in its Blue Charm line-up called as m1, m1 note, m2 and m2 note.
The main asset of the Meizu Metal smartphone is it sports a full metal body that the claims to be a ‘Crystal Metal’ and is quite a looker. The device flaunts a 5.5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) FHD display with 2.5D curved glass and Dinorex T2X-1 glass for scratch and shock protection on top of it. It comes powered by MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2GHz paired with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 2GB RAM. The smartphone comes in two storage variants 16GB/32GB of internal storage.
Coming to the camera, the smartphone features a 13MP rear camera with PDAF, LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter to capture crisp images. It has dual sim dual standby support and connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port. The second sim card slot can also be used as microSD card slot for further expansion.
The handset comes backed by a 3140mAh battery that can last upto 10 hours in standby mode. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Flyme OS 5.1 out of the box. The other highlight of the smartphone is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the physical home button placed on the front side (as seen on the MX5 smartphone). Apart from the refreshing metal design the smartphone will come in five different colors- Blue, Grey, White, Pink and Gold.
The Meizu Metal smartphone is priced in its home country at CNY 1,099 (Rs. 11,300 approx) for the 16GB storage variant and CNY 1,299 (roughly Rs. 13,300) for the 32GB storage variant. The metal-bodied smartphone is now up for pre-orders and will be available for sale starting November 2. As of now the company did not reveal any details about the pricing and availability of the smartphone in other countries. Stay tuned!
