We are getting a new app to search Android apps instead of Play Store. The Android search app is now a beta version which claims to change the way we interact with apps. It will help users to get apps from the web, which means we can download and install an app without going to the Play Store.
As announced at Google I/O 2016, it will enable users to see a preview how the app works without installing it in the device. Sounds interesting! Isn’t it?
Presently it has partnered with Halfbrick to roll out the classic app “Fruit Ninja” which offers a demo of the app instantly before installation. Through that app, when users search for an app of their choice, it will be shown with a label “Try Now” to try that app instantly. However, it will take lots of time to get most of the apps with the ‘Try Now’ label! Till then if an app doesn’t have that label, it will have a link to Play Store where it can be downloaded without a demo of the app. Right now it is very unstable as it is a beta version but hopefully, it will work out nicely when it will be released as a stable version for everyone. It is reported that Users having Android Jelly bean can use this feature once it is rolled out. Further, we have the information that one can install few modules instead of the full app to try out desired features consuming less data and memory, and paying less which would also make the process faster.
It looks like this will benefit Google to a great deal of its Mobile Ads business as Google can sell ads on those web pages where users are going to get those apps. And even the app developers are also going to make more money by showing the demo of the app to the users which might make the user encouraged to buy that app. It seems like a win-win situation for everyone. But let’s wait and see how things get turns in the coming months.
