Procedure to Update Galaxy 3 GT 5801 with Froyo 2.2 Firmware:
- Download the Froyo DDJP6 Froyo 2.2 Package in your computer and once you are done with this you need to extract the same. In the process of extraction it will prompt you for the password. Enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.
- Up next, enable the USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging” as shown in the below screen capture. Now, turn Off the phone and open the Odin from the extracted files in your computer.
- Now, you need to enter your phone in the download mode. Download mode can be entered by Pressing the Menu button + Volume Down rocker key + Power ON button. If the device turns ON in the download mode then you need to try again till you enter into the download mode.
- Now with the help of original usb cable, connect the phone with the computer using the USB Cable after which you will see that the ID : COM section will turn yellow which will mean that all the drivers have been successfully installed.
- Now, in the Odin you need to select “One Package” option in the Odin. After this, click on “OPS Package” and select “apollo_0531.ops”, “One Package” and choose the file named as “I5801DDJP6.tar”. Click on “Start” and then the process of firmware update will be started.
- It will take around 5 – 10 minutes to finish the update process. Once, its updated successfully, the device will be automatically rebooted. Once the process is completed, you will see the home screen and then remove the connected USB cable and turn Off the phone so as to enter the phone in the recovery mode.
- In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. If the device boots normally then again you need to try the same to enter into the recovery mode.
