nexus S LogoSamsung Nexus S seems to be the most loved handset when it comes to the customization and also for the updates as in an exclusive move by one of the developer called Koush has now come up with the development of the most awaited Cyanogen Mod 9 which will be bearing the goodness of Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 version has now turned reality and in the due course of this article we will see on how you can apply the same on your Samsung Nexus S. This all new Cyanogen MOD 9 update is dubbed as the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0.1 version.

In an exclusive interview with Cyanogen MOD, we got to know that Cyanogen Mod 8 was reserved for the Honeycomb development but since the response was very poor for the Honeycomb release, the Cyanogen MOD Team had to skip CM 8 and started developing for Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 which is a real future star.

The only cause of concern is that since it’s an ALPHA port more than half of the functionalities doesn’t work.   • Calendar Sync,
  • Fixed missing apks,
  • Pinch to zoom works

Things which doesn’t work:

  • MMS doesn’t work,
  • Video Player and all other things which are not mentioned in the “What work’s” section

So, keeping it simple we will first see on what are the quick pre requisites which you need to follow, followed by the list of instructions which you need to follow to apply this update in your Samsung Nexus S.

Rooting Information:
In the due course of this article, the phone will be rooted and you will be losing the warranty. The only way you can restore the warranty and revoke the rooting access is to apply the Original firmware which is currently there in your phone.
