Recently the trend has been moving towards low budget Android tablets, we’ve already seen the Indian government produce on of the most cheapest Android tablet, available for $35 to the students, which has brought in mixed results. Combining lots of features with powerful hardware and good user experience at very low costs is really difficult, but those who have managed to do the same have seen some success. Now, there is another contender for the 10 inch tablet market in India, the Simmtronics XPad X1010, is an Android tablet from Simmtronics.
The XPad X1010 is a 10.1 inch tablet available in India for just Rs 8,499. The tablet runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box, with a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. Coming to the internal hardware, we find that it is powered by a 1.2 GHz Cortex-A8 processor along with a dual Mali-400 graphics processor which makes the device feel very fast and snappy. It comes packed with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of NAND flash storage but also has support for a microSD card with which you can increase the storage up to 32GB. The XPad’s six-in-one architecture supports 3G connectivity, 1080p high-definition video playback, audio processor, and dual 2D/3D graphics. It is able to support 3G connectivity via the use of USB dongles. It also has a variety of connectivity options that include 3G, WiFi and the USB and HDMI ports allow users to connect their hard-drives and other devices to the tablet for full operating flexibility. You can also find a 0.3MP front camera for video calling capability. The XPad also supports a wide variety of audio and video formats.

All in all this is a very good device and packs good hardware for its price point. There are a lot of other devices available from lots of companies in this category with similar specifications and only time will tell if the product is successful or not.
