CyanogenMod Expands its Support for More Devices

CyanogenMod is a customized, aftermarket firmware distribution for several Android devices. Based on the Android Open Source Project, CyanogenMod is designed to increase performance and reliability over Android-based ROMs released by vendors and carriers such as Google, T-Mobile, HTC, etc. CyanogenMod also offers a variety of features & enhancements that are not currently found in these versions of Android.

The CyanogenMod community has recently announced that it has expanded the list of devices supporting CyanogenMod OS. According to CyanogenMod team several popular devices from Huawei, Samsung, HTC, LG, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo will now be supported by CyanogenMod OS.

The supported devices include Huawei’s Honor 4 and Honor 4x, Ascend Mate 2, Snapto, and so on; Motorola’s Moto E and Moto G’s 2015 variants; Xiaomi’s Mi3w and the Mi4; Oppo’s R7, R7 Plus, and R5 Plus; Samsung’s Galaxy S5 Mini Duos and Galaxy S5 (Japan and China variants); HTC’s One M8 Dual SIM, and LG’s G3 (Korean variant).

The team also has extended the support to lesser known companies like Smartfren and recently announced WileyFox. Smartfren’s AndroMax Q “the only CDMA Cyanogen device” and WileyFox’s Storm and Swift are among the devices receiving Cyanogen OS support.

The CyanogenMod community now supports 200+ devices, that receives builds of CM (CM 11, 12.0, and 12.1) OS. The team has also hinted that it will add more devices in the future including flagship devices such as HTC One M9, LG G4, and Samsung Galaxy S6
