Google Nexus 6 Rumored to be a “lightweight” Version of unannounced LG G3

Sundar Pichai from Google said in the 2014 MWC event that the next-generation version of Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG) Nexus Smart phone, called as the Nexus 6, could be released in the second half of this year. Now there is a new report saying that the handset could get some design cues from the unannounced LG G3 Smart phone. While Pichai didn’t mention the name of the upcoming Google Smart phone, but we can assume that this will be the Nexus 6.

The latest news about the upcoming Nexus Smart phone comes with the courtesy Gizmodo, who cites an insider that claims that Google’s rumoured Nexus 6 Smart phone is being manufactured by LG, which has been the OEM partner for Nexus Smart phones for two consecutive years with Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. The report also says that he device would not be manufactured by Lenovo (HKG: 0992) as rumored earlier. Instead, the handset would be made by LG (KRX: 066570), and it could be a lightweight version of the upcoming flagship from LG G3 that is expected to be announced in June.

Earlier reports claims that the LG G3 could feature a quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, a 64-bit processor and a 16-megapixel rear camera. We can assume that the design of both the devices might be similar, but not the Internal specifications.

Gizmodo Germany claims South Korean company, LG will probably also manufacture Google’s first ever smart watch and this could be announced at Google’s I/O event that will be conducted in the month of June this year. We can also expect this Nexus 6 device also to unveil itself in this event. We all know that the Nexus Smart phone are generally lighter in weight, we can expect this device also to be lighter in weight.
