How to customize Android Phone home Screen

So, today let’s check out how you can customize your home screen in your Android device easily. Customization can be done with the help of a simple software tool which is called as desktop visualizer. Basically, with desktop visualizer software tool for android allows you to create shortcuts with an image or icon of your choice which can be then placed on your home screen. Procedure to customize Android’s home screen:

  • Now, after downloading and installing the desktop visualizer, you need to long press on the home screen till you get a list of widgets on your home screen itself. Out of a list of various widgets sizes you can select out of 1×2, 1×3, 1×4, 2×1, 3×1, 4×1, Large, Middle, Small SS, and Small sizes as per your requirements and likings. After selecting the size you can see that the widget is now placed on the home screen where you have long pressed.

  • After the widget is placed on the screen and compiling you just need to establish a game plan on how you can design on the screen. Be it large icons or the small icons which ever you wish to select the icons you can place them as per your requirement. You can also download the images to your computer and once everything is compiled and collected in a single folder, please note that you need to set the folder’s name to theme. Now you can move them to your android device either by using the data cable or even with the help of bluetooth. For such sorts of applications, the best app will be drop box, once images are on the device, you can start building your all new interface as per your choice.
  • Now, again long press on the the home screen, select Widgets, and simply scroll down to the proper sized Desktop Visualizer widget after then just tap on the Select Icon button from the list, select Image File and you can choose the image by finding  the image from the search box, in some cases you can choose from Gallery or also from Astro and then you can browse your device to desired image as shown below. Also, you can select an action for the option which is set.

  • Next up, you need to tap on the Select Action button. You can either choose from Launch Application, Other, or None. If you choose Other option then you can select from a list of items such as Activities, drop box folder, music play lists,settings, activities and other options. If you choose to select None, then labels can be removed from the segregated groups. You can also select the color of your choice in the Touch Effect which is the color that highlights the icon when it is selected. After setting up the preferences, you can select the OK button and your widget will be created successfully. You just need to repeat these steps for completing the creation of your interface as per your choice.

Customizations can be done very easily with the help of all logos and Google images so that your interface looks neat and some what official look can be given to the same. For a perfect icon picture please ensure that you select a square shaped image so that the logos which are generally square can be represented in a good manner.

    Hey man just wanted to say thank you so much for posting and taking the time wo write all this up. I was just outside trying to figure out how to make a shorcut for my Pandora app for like an hour. I came in and googled some phrase and this was the 1st thing to come up. Anyways within 5 minutes I had made a shortcut for Pandora that opens it right up and works amazingly. And the Application is still free!

    A must try one. The customized homescreen just looks like the Windows Phone 7 interface. I might try using it and customizing the home screen.
