HTC Nexus 9 – Sounds confusing? We have heard rumors about the news that Google has been working with HTC in order to make a Nexus Tablet. Earlier Asus used to make these Nexus Tablets along with Google but the details that we got makes it clear that HTC is making this new tablet. Earlier we were not sure if the Nexus 9 will come with an 8 inch or 8.9 inch display but this leaks reveal that it will be a 8.9 inch screen and it’s been codenamed as Volantis (or Floinder).
This device will be coming with a resolutions of 1440 x 2048 with is very different from the Nexus Tablets we have seen earlier and expected to have a 4:3 aspect ratio unlike the 16:10. Moreover the device is said to coming with a 64 bit Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset with 2 GB of RAM. It will have 16 GB or 32 GB storage space that can be extended with microSD card. The tablet will be featuring an 8 MP camera on the rear and it is accompanied with 3 MP camera on the front. It should also be coming with the latest Android OS which is yet to be seen.
The device will be coming with a zero-gap aluminum construction and will have the dimensions of 223.3 x 151.9 x 7.9 mm. the weight of the device is at 418 grams for the Wi-Fi only variant and 42 grams for the 4G LTE variant. According to Android Police these leaks are legit and can expect few details to be changed bore the actual release.
From the image we can see that the device is made of some plastic and the front facing speakers are also missing and importantly the 4:3 aspect ratio that the device claim to have is also missing. The Wi-Fi only is priced at $399 for the 16 GB model and the 32 GB variant is at $499. We can expect the LTE model to be somewhere around $600.
