LG Optimus 2x P990 – Steps to Install Cyanogen Mod 9 ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware

Be informed that this is not an official firmware released by LG Electronics and also there is no ETA on by when there will be an ICS release. Also, please note that this update should strictly be applied to the devices which bear the model number as LG Optimus 2x P990 and to no other similar models of LG as this may even brick your device.

APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names

  • Disable all the tools like Security SuitesFirewall tools along with the HTC Sync as these tend to interrupt the update process. The APN Settings are located in this path, Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.
  • Minimum battery charged should be at least 70% so as to ensure that the phone doesn’t get turned Off in the middle of firmware update.
