Update: South Korea’s LG Electronics has started rolling out Android 5.0 lollipop update for LG Optimus G Pro smartphone. The update is now officially available in South Korea, LG’s home country.
The LG Optimus G Pro is the flagship smartphone for LG was released in May 2013. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon processor with a 1.7 GHz clock speed on all four cores. It has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. The internal storage can be expanded with a microSD card that can be up to 64 GB in size. The LG Optimus G Pro has a 5.5″ True HD LCD screen with a display resolution of 1080p.
The update is currently available for all three carrier-variants (SKT, KT, U+) in the company’s home market. There is no word on whether the company plans to release the same update in other markets, but we hope so, as it will give this ageing smartphone a new life. LG has already rolled out lollipop update for G3, the G2, and the G Pro 2 smartphone.
