I am surprised that no one said a word about all the grammatical errors in the article. You put yourself there as a reviewer, yet what are people complaining about? I was looking for a reliable source to find and now I don’t think this is a reliable source. That means my time was wasted.

I cannot believe you call this “advice” — this is just a collection of 5 cut-n-paste sessions from Google Play. Did you actually use any of these? Why are they “top 5″? where is the comparison? Actually did you even read the cut-n-paste? One of them listed “precise and accurate” as “feature”. Huh?

note: select map source (google maps). zoom level (17 is good for cities). atlas settings (format: RMaps SQLite).
then create it. then, insall (rmaps) on phone. copy paste the saved maps the (phone memory> rmaps> maps). then open rmaps>settings>user defined maps> select the maps.

This NavFree is not good. I downloaded the latest version to my Nexus 4. I can enter my hospital’s state, city and street. When entered the street number or the cross-street, it said no match found. When I entered my house and my son’s house, same thing. So it takes you to the street only. If the street is a long one, the software is no good. I live in a fairly big city in California.

Actually, some of article’s apps are maps cachers, not offline navigation.
Ok, there is much fewer data comm with map cacher apps. Still, they are useless when you don’t have a connection (either because you’re abroad and don’t want to pay outrageous price to telecoms or you’re in the middle of nothing). Sygic is one of truly offline navigation. You don’t need data comm to search addresses and tracing routes: it’s all offline.
