How to Root Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 on Gingerbread 2.3.5 XXJVT Firmware

Procedure to Root Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000 phone on XXJVT 2.3.5 Firmware:

  • First up you will have to download the XXJVT 2.3.5 Rooting Package in your computer which contains two files which are the Odin as well as the CF Root Package. After downloading this, you will have to now proceed to unzip the same and just in case in the process of extraction if it prompts for the password then you will have to enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas.

Extract Files

  • Now, from the extracted files you will have to open the Odin executable file in your computer and turn Off the phone so that you can then enter into the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing  down on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can also refer to the video below to know more on how you can enter into the download mode for more convenience. If the phone encounters with the normal booting then you need to try multiple times to get into download mode.

  • Once you get into the download mode, you will have to connect the phone with the computer while keeping the Odin opened in your computer. So, as soon as you connect you will see that the ID: COM block will turn yellow which means that all the drivers are successfully installed and you are ready to proceed with the rooting procedure.

  • Now, click on the “PDA” option and then select the file of  “” which will be located in the extracted files .Once you select the file you will now need to click on the “Start” tab in the Odin after which the rooting process will be done in just less than 2 minutes.

  • Once the rooting process is finished, the device will be rebooted and then you will see that the phone will be rooted. To find out whether the device has been successfully rooted or not, you will have to find two additional applications which are “CWM” and the “Super User” which will mean that the phone has been successfully rooted.

Optional Step for users facing Force Close Error after Rooting:

  • Just in case if your device is experiencing with the Force Close errors more frequently after the rooting then you will have to first turn off the phone so that you can enter into the recovery mode. The recovery mode can be entered by pressing  Volume UP on Volume Down Key + OK button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. You can refer the below mentioned videoon how you can enter into the recovery mode.

  • In the recovery mode, select Wipe data/factory reset and also you need to select Wipe Cache partition and then reboot your device by selecting reboot system now option. Please note that you will have to ensure that you don’t select any other options or else there is a high probability that you may erase all the data which is even stored in the Internal / External SD card.
