How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on XWKK5 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware

Procedure to Root Galaxy S2 on XWKK5 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware:

  • First up you need to download the Gingerbread XWKK5 2.3.6 Rooting Package in your computer and then you need to extract the same. In the process of extraction, you will be prompted to enter the password, enter the password as “androidadvices.com” without inverted comas as shown in the below image.

  • As soon as you finish the extraction of files, match the extracted files as shown in the below image. Even if single file is missing then you need to again download and extract the zip file which is mentioned in the first step.

  • From the extracted files, you need to open the Odin flash tool executable file as shown below and then you need to turn off the phone. Now, keeping Odin opened in the computer, connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable which you got at the time of purchase.

  • Now, turn ON your phone in the download mode. The download mode can be entered by pressing Volume down Key, Center button, and holding both simultaneously press the Power Button. Refer below Video for more.

  • Once the download mode is entered, you need to connect the phone to the computer with USB cable and then you will see that the ID : COM section turns yellow which will mean that all the drivers are installed successfully.

  • Up next, you need to click on the “PDA” tab and then you will have to select the file which is named as “CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OXA_KK5-v5.0-CWM5”. After selecting, click on “Start” tab to start the process of rooting process. Also, don’t forget to select or match all other options as mentioned in the below image or else the firmware won’t get applied.

  • Once the rooting process is done, the phone will be restarted and then there you go the device has been successfully rooted. To check whether if the phone is rooted or not, you need to find for apps like CWM and Super user. If you are unable to find even one app out of these then you need to again proceed for rooting your phone again.
