Samsung Galaxy Axiom through US Cellular – Features, Specs and Pricing

The Samsung Galaxy Axiom is now official through the US Cellular Network in the US, after it was in the leaks a week back. The pricing of the Axiom is $79 if someone takes it with a 2-year contract and if they are not going to bind to any contract, they would have to shell out $399 for the same. This budget LTE smartphone would be coming with the Ice Cream Sandwich OS and there’s a dual-core processor having a speed of 1.2GHz and would have a 4GB of Internal memory while it can be expanded to 32GB using a MicroSD card.

The Axiom would have a 5-megapixel camera on the rear side while there would be a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front side. The LTE connectivity would be supported by the NFC connectivity. This could be a good option for those who wanted to try out something as an alternative option against the Galaxy S III Mini.

It seems the US Cellular network is coming up with yet another Android device, which is speculated to be the variant of the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini phone, and it would carry the name Galaxy Axiom (SCH-R830). It totally seems to be a carrier model of the S3 Mini, which is available internationally but we always see the variants from the different carriers in the US market for most of the devices.

Evleaks has been a consistent source for the leaks of the devices, and one of the most trusted ones. There is no further information revealed in the leak but we are sure that the phone should be coming soon into the US market, as are the other devices usually entering after the Evleaks has given a hint to the public.

The specs and features of the Galaxy Axiom

The Samsung Galaxy Axiom is designed totally similar to the S3 Mini, thus giving a doubt whether it would just be the carrier version. But the internal specs of the phones are a bit different.
The 4-inch WVGA display and 5-megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM are the ones similar to the Galaxy S III Mini, while the processor wise we are seeing a better one in the Axiom with a 1.2GHz Qualcomm MSM8960 processor while the S3 Mini had a 1GHz dual core processor.

Apart from the difference in the processor, the Galaxy Axiom would have the 4G LTE connectivity, while the S3 Mini lacks that. There would be no surprise with the OS, because the Galaxy Axiom will have the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS while the S3 Mini had the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS in it, but that depends on the time of release so the Galaxy Axiom is no big winner. It would be quite advantageous for those who were to select between the two, and would want no hassle of updating the phone manually to the latest OS after purchasing it.

These aren’t any real high-end specifications, but decent ones when you are selecting a mid-range Android phone, from a specific carrier, and in this case the US Cellular. If the leaked picture and the information stays true, we will see the device quite soon and will have to wait to confirm the availability and pricing of the device.
