  1. Sorry, I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT I9000. Liam

  2. Hi I have updated to gingerbread 2.3.5 and WiFi wont work. Tried fix but the ‘update.zip’ file doesn’t seem to be on the sd card and the update.zip action is aborted. The WiFi still doesn’t work. Any help appreciated. Liam

  3. I got a Galaxy tab that was purchase in Taiwan. The time zone changes back to Taipei time zone each time it’s turned off & back on. Anyone know of a fix? loading time zone apps from Market Place didn’t help. Skype video also doesn’t work. The Skype app activates the rear camera! go figure! Don’t buy a Samsung.

  4. Tomorrow I’ll be home I’ll write you what I think about it all.

  5. I also just bought the P1010 (WIFI only) – SIP (VOIP) doesn’t work nor does PPTP VPN on the Froyo version. Samsung won’t respond. I waanted to use both so the device is disappointing to me. I’ll returen the Samsung and get an HTC Flyer 7″ Tab with Gingerbread on it – HTC is going to provide an upgrade to Honetycomb. Samsung products are dead ends and the support is a joke.

The galaxy tab is an awesome gadget. I bought the P1010 WIFI version it was ok until I discovered that there is no tv out option. I should have bought the 3g version instead. Oh well, in case some of you here dont know.

  7. Big mistake, do not buy a galaxy tab in Dubai! No android marketplace, restrictions on downloads, no upgrade option, can’t remove religious apps, and more. Also after seeing deals in the uk they are also better! Does anyone know how to completely reinstall the android software?

    • Here’s how to activate Android Market App on the Galaxy Tab without updating the firmware:

      Backup your Galaxy Tab
In the Phone, dial *#06# and copy the IMEI number, you will need it in the next step.
      Dial *#272*IMEI#
In Pre-Configuration page select XSG and then Install
Galaxy Tab will reboot and Android Market will appear in the homescreen. And you’re on to more than 88,000 apps out there!

Note: You need to enter your FULL 14 DIGIT IMEI code (all before the forward slash)

  8. What is the specialty in the keyboard of Gingerbread? Does it have anything different from the traditional keyboard available for the other Android versions?
