Update: Samsung has set the pricing for the SCH-W2013 at the very expensive $3000 where it would be any easy for someone to purchase the phone, although there are some power-packed specifications included in the device. The quad-core dual screen flip phone comes with two AMOLED screens of 3.7-inch each, and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS is included. There’s 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory in the W2013 and 1,850mAh of battery. The phone has got two cameras, the 8MP rear and 1.9MP front camera.
The expected price is somewhere between ¥18,000 ($2,900) and ¥20,000 ($3,210), and the official endorsement of this device is being done by Jackie Chan, and although the phone has some good features and specs to have one, but the pricing should always be a concern for everyone who is thinking to purchase one.

While there are the basic releases being done on one end from Samsung which makes the flagship devices for Google and its own best products too, the other end has got innovation in Samsung’s mind. The SCH-W2013 is a flip phone, shocking but true as the device has been spotted in China with Android OS installed in it, and it is not one of those fake devices but the actual product from Samsung who have not done this internationally but in China.
Interestingly we had news in June that Unicom was selling an exactly similar device from Samsung but with the code GT-B9120 in China, but now we have got some real specs.
You cannot expect anything less from the device, because what all the phone has got is quite enough to beat many other high-end Android phones in the current market. Samsung has power-packed the SCH-W2013 with some great specs which include the following:
- 3.3 inch AMOLED display with Screen resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
- 1.4 GHz Exynos 4412 quad-core processor
- Expanded memory with microSD card support
- 2GB RAM
- Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0
- 8 megapixel rear-facing camera
- 2 megapixel front-facing camera
Within this small screened flip device, there is a quad-core processor clocking at 1.4GHz, and topped by 2GB of RAM which would for sure never hamper the performance of the device.
What was seen on the phone was Android 4.0 ICS but we could be expecting an updated OS when the device would be actually launched into the market, because Google just launched the Android 4.2 OS and porting that into this flip phone would not be a surprise. The thickness of the flip device is 17 mm, and that is no surprise because of the build and flip ones are usually quite thick and heavier than the normal smartphones.
Where Samsung is on one side being one of the top most selling device manufacturers with the Galaxy devices in the top list, the Korean tech giant isn’t stopping itself from doing trials in the other category of devices too.
