The Sony Xperia mobile handset was so hit that it continued the series with a number of mobile phone like Xperia Arc, Xperia X10, Xperia X8, Xperia Ray, Xperia Neo and Xperia X10 Mini, just like what was did by Samsung when Samsung Galaxy was hit. Here comes another mobile handset from Sony named Xperia Duo which is an Android 2.3 phone. Few days back it was reported the leaks of image of it and rumoured that it would be launched in September.
The Android operating system is now common trend among the mobile phone and there are reasons for that. The main reason being its open source so as you can modify the phone the way you like and the next thing is you have access to the gallery which has millions of apps.

The Sony Xperia DUO has got a wide 4.5 inches LED backlit LCD touch screen which is capacitive in nature. The screen used in this mobile phone is altogether a different screen operated with a new technology used by Sony Ericsson. The clarity provided by it is excellent and crisp clear. It has a pixel resolution of 540 x 960 pixels. Its obvious that when you have such high end mobile phone you would have the feature accelerometer, multi touch input.
This has got the fastest 1.4 GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8260 processor and phone completely runs on the Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered with 1.5 GB of RAM. So with the hardware Sony has made it strong and clear that its not gonna lack.
It’s presently available in black color only with a unique finish and 4.5 inches screen is well worth enough to view content.
As I said it runs on the latest built Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system there is much joy of using it. You get access to thousands and thousands of apps available for free and paid download at Android App Marketplace.
In addition to that it has got Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine. The software includes the Java Support via Java MIDP emulator. The Android being an open operating system, you can upgraded the firmware with the latest release of the Android versions. We would be right there to post such Android Firmware updates whenever available.
There are various connectivity options included in this handset ranging from Bluetooth v 2.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n network, Wi-Fi hotspot for Wi-Fi sharing. With the DLNA technology you can share media on to the DLNA enabled like the LED TV. Provided with a microUSB pin can be helpful for data transfer and PC connectivity. The HDMI can be used to view and transfer the rich media files.
With an included microSD card slot you an increase the memory up to 32 GB. It also come with preloaded apps like NeoReader which works as barcode reader, Google Search, Google Maps, YouTube, Google Talk, Facebook and other social network connect, Document viewer for files like Microsoft Office, Excel, Powerpoint and Word. This mobile also support viewing flash content through the Adobe Flash 10.2.
The audio player supports playback of MP4, H.263, H.264, WMV formats and video formats includes MP3, eAAC+, WMA, WAV player.
Sony sets a standard for the next level of mobile handset with Xperia Duo as it has got impressive 12 mega pixel camera which is never seen before in smartphones. You can take the super sharp images just like the digital camera at a whopping 4000 x 3000 pixels resolution. So when you have such a high-resolution camera, you would be easily able to record videos at 1080pixels HD recording. Apart from that, as being the 3G mobile phone it has got an impressive 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera which can be used for video calling as well. So overall, I am very much impressed with the camera just not because I love Sony Ericsson handset.
Gone are the days where you struggle for a day battery backup with your 1500 mAh battery. Get Sony Ericsson which has Lithium Polymer based 2500 mAh standard rechargeable battery which offers amazing battery backup which is never seen before in 3G mobile phone. I am not sure of perfect specification on how much 2500 mAh battery can provide you but truly it’s a revolution. The features like LED flash and autofocus helps to take picture in a better way.
So with that high-end specifications and features one would expect this mobile to well-priced but believe me it’s priced just in the range of affordability at Rs 22,500 in India and at $ 510 elsewhere in the world.
I would say it’s a direct competitor with both price and specifications that it has got. Samsung Galaxy S2 has set records within no time but Sony Ericsson Xperial Duo with outstanding features, I hope would be rocking device with Android OS.
