The lesser known Chinese handset maker, UMi is known for making value for money smartphones that come with decent specifications at affordable prices. The company earlier launched UMi Rome smartphone and later a slightly toned down variant called UMi Rome X. It has followed the same trend with the recently released UMi Touch smartphone and now officially launched a smaller variant of the Touch named as UMi Touch X. The device is a complete package of decent features, stylish design and long-lasting battery aimed at the budget smartphone lovers. The UMi Touch X is priced at $119 and is available for purchase via leading online retailers starting April 21.
Coming to the specifications part, the UMi Touch X flaunts the same 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD LTPS 2.5D curved display offering a pixel density of 401ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, it packs MediaTek MT6735A 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU when compared to the MediaTek MT6753 true 1.5GHz octa-core SoC seen on the UMi Touch. The smartphone features a hybrid sim slot that double’s up as microSD card slot if required. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
It has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 16GB. On the photographic section, the smartphone comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with Sony IMX219 sensor, autofocus, dual-tone LED flash and also supports 1080p video recording at 30fps. On the front, it has a 5MP shooter with LED flash for stunning selfie captures in any lighting conditions. Connectivity options on the device include 4G-LTE, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1 and microUSB 2.0 port with OTG support.
The handset powers a 4000mAh battery that is rated to last upto 24 hours of 4G browsing, 92 hours of music playback and 15 days on standby mode. The UMi Touch X follows the same design language as Touch; it comes with a full-metal unibody design with curved edges that offers nice grip to hold the device. The smartphone features a physical home button that double’s up as fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The device measures just 8.5 mm thickness and is available in Gold and Grey color options.
