How to Update Huawei Honor U8860 with Official ICS Android 4.0 Firmware
Procedure to Update Huawei Honor to Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0:
- First up you need to download the Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 firmware Package in your computer and then connect your Huawei Honor device with computer using the original USB cable which you have got at the time of purchase.
- After this, copy the downloaded Zip file to your phone’s sd Card and then you need to ensure that you have copied the Zip package to “dload” directory in your phone.
- Now, remove the connected USB cable and turn off the phone and then boot he phone into the idle mode. Now, Click the Menu button to select the “Settings”> Storage> Software Update> SD card upgrade> select “OK” to perform the upgrade operation.
- After this, when the screen displays “Upgrade Complete” means that the upgrade phase is completed and then you need to wait till the phone is restarted where the boot animation will be shown as “Unicom” after 3 minutes of the same the entire update process will be finished.

I have some far more significant problems with this build. I simply cannot find any Marketplace application that will work – it keeps asking for an account whereas my Google Gmail account is listed as one of my mail accounts. Marketplace does not allow me to indicate that I need to “You need to add an account for the device to continue”
Even attempting to install software from the marketplace website is cumbersome because it refuses to install software that was previously installed before the software upgrade (even though the device is wiped along with the SD card) – the marketplace website still shows the application installed on the device…

Yes, even after creating a new account, it will write this is not an android device registered account.
Is the rom only in chinese or its also in english?
I’ve updated but i can’t see any google app (market/gmail/talk) even if they are present because if i go to the web it ask me to open with the market and it opens!!
Where i can find all the google apps to install?

My attempt of this went 50% thru Step 2, then reported “Update failed”..
I thought my phone was bricked at this time, but after rebooting (had to remove battery) it came up fine.. nothing changed!
