Pre Requisite Instructions:
- First and foremost, it is very important to ensure that you are On the XXJVR 2.3.4 version of firmware. If you are any other firmware then you will have to follow the procedure to install the XXJVR 2.3.4 firmware first and then proceed for the instructions which are mentioned below.
Procedure to Update Galaxy S GT I9000 with XXJVR 2.3.4
- It’s not required to root the firmware of XXJVR separately as, as soon as you will apply the tar file via the Odin, the same will be rooted. Please note that only after updating your phone with the XXJVR 2.3.4 version you should proceed for the further steps.
- Before proceeding to apply this update you will have to note that the battery should be a minimum of 95% plus as since it’s a custom ROM, the higher the battery life the better will be the overall performance of the battery though it will take some charge cycles to stabilize the battery life. SMS – Use “SMS Backup & Restore app”,
Contacts – Sync with the Gmail application,
Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to internal / External SD Card,
APN and MMS Settings – Note down from the path “Applications > Settings > Wireless and Network > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names”
