After a few teases during the recent past, Acer has finally announced the Acer Iconia A1-830 Android tablet with the 7.9-inch display, with the HD resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, and it’s the LED-backlit IPS display having a wide 178-degree viewing angle, and the aspect ratio of the tablet is 4:3. The budget Android tablet earlier to this was the Acer Iconia B1 which was being sold for $99 recently.
Under the hood, there is a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology and that is supported by 1GB LPDDR2 RAM and PowerVR SGX544 GPU. The rear side of the tablet has the aluminum metal back cover, and it increases the durability, and the metal contributes to the weight of 380 gm.
Camera wise, there us a 5-megapixel rear shooter with the 1080p Full HD video recording, and there is a 2-megapixel front-facing camera with the 720p video recording. The tablet comes with 16GB internal storage, and there is an expansion option with the MicroSD card slot, supporting the maximum of 32GB as expandable storage. The connectivity options that are available in it, include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, MicroUSB.
There is no clear information about the Android OS version that the tablet device would be running and also the exact capacity of the battery, but the company claims it can provide around 7.5 hours of usage. The tablet is 8.15mm thick, and it looks neat with the two speakers on the rear bottom side.
The pricing of the Acer Iconia A1-830 is to be 169 Euros and the tablet is going to be available from the end of February in white color. The users would be able to purchase some accessories such as Crunch Keyboard and Crunch Cover separately. This is one of the products to be showcased at the CES 2014 event.
