The Acer Iconia Tab A100 was a roller coaster with high end specifications and getting in the list of top Android tablet. Acer’s latest development of Iconia A200 is the successor model of A100 and news is that, it’s available in United Kingdom and in United States for purchase. Its also available in Australia at 349 AUS Dollars. Added that this tablet will come with pre-installed Ice Cream Sandwich i.e., Android 4.0 starting January 2012. This should make customers happy to try out the new update of Android OS.
The site called Very.co.uk is selling Acer Iconia Tab A200 at a price of 299 Euros and it’s available in black and red color variants. It’s available for pre order and the delivery of it would be done after January 6, 2012. Coming to the availability in United States Acer hinted that it will hit as early as on January 15, 2012. It will be priced at $ 329 as hinted by Acer.
Coming to the specifications of Iconia A200 it’s a 10.1 inches tablet with super multimedia and graphical enhancement. It’s powered with Google’s Android Honeycomb 3.2 Operating system which is specially designed for tablets. It has WXGA resolution with 1280 x 800 pixels and it gives pixel density of 149 pixels per inch.
It comes with high color contrast display and wide viewing angle for displaying the 720p HD video and enhanced photo browsing. Running on the ARM Cortex A9 dual core processor clocked at 1 Ghz uses the nVidia Tegra 2 processor and comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal drive storage. It includes a 2 mega pixel front facing camera only. This device will come with Acer’s own customized Android overlay with ‘Acer Ring’ and its said that it will provide multi tasking quicker and easier.
There are plenty of features to add to the list of hardware – 3.5 mm headset jack, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1 for wireless file transfer between the devices, Gyro Sensor, Accelerometer and in built GPS support. It also includes microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB in size and it features a full size USB port.
Considering that this will come with Ice Cream Sandwich very soon, its better to go with the device after January 2012.
