The Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, Acer has today announced three new smartphones in its Liquid series called as Acer Liquid Zest, Liquid Zest 4G and Liquid Jade 2 at the MWC 2016 event in Barcelona. The Acer Liquid Zest and Zest 4G are the affordable smartphones and come with budget specifications. The Liquid Jade 2 is the mid-range device and comes with powerful features. All the smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and will be showcased at their respective booths at the MWC 2016.
The Acer Liquid Zest flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display offering a pixel density of 294ppi and comes powered by MediaTek MT6735 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with Mali-T720 GPU. The smartphone sports an 8MP autofocus primary camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front-facing shooter with 85-degree wide-angle lens for selfie lovers. It supports dual sim dual standby and comes with basic connectivity options like 2G/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB 2.0 port.
The Acer Liquid Zest 4G features a similar 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD IPS display and comes equipped with 64-bit MediaTek MT6735P quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz paired with Mali-T720 GPU for lag-free performance. The smartphone features similar camera sensors like the Liquid Zest and as the name indicates is a 4G-LTE enabled device.
The Liquid Zest comes with DTS Sound Studio while the Liquid Zest 4G with DTS HD Premium Sound for superior audio quality. Apart from this, there are no other details about RAM, storage and battery of the budget smartphones. The Liquid Zest and Zest 4G are priced at Eur 109 and Eur 149 respectively and comes in Black and White color options. The smartphones will be available for purchase from April 2016.
The Acer Liquid Jade 2 comes with a 5.5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD AMOLED display with Zero Air Gap technology, 401ppi as pixel density and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass laid on top for protection. Under the hood, it packs Snapdragon 808 hexa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz clubbed with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and 1TB hybrid cloud storage. The smartphone comes with a 21MP primary camera with PDAF, dual-LED flash, 4K video recording support and an 8MP front snapper for selfie lovers. It supports dual sim dual standby and has connectivity options like 4G-LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.1 and Wi-Fi. Stay tuned for more updates about the device in coming days.
