Alcatel has announced its One Touch Pop 8 Android Tablet, along with the Pop 7 tablet and Pop C9 Smart phone that were discussed in our earlier posts. Now it is time to know the Pop 8 tablet in details which came to the market as entry level device but having better specifications than the Pop 7 tablet.
The One Touch Pop 8 Android Tablet has an 8 inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 resolutions and is powered by a MediaTek MT8382 quad-core Cortex-A7 processor, clocking at 1.3 GHz with Mali 400 GPU as we saw in the One Touch Pop 7 tablet. It also has 1 GB of RAM and sports a 2 MP rear camera and 0.3 MP front facing camera equipped for video calling. This device is running on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and has a 4 GB of on board memory that can be extended up to 32 GB via micro SD card.
One Touch Pop 8 Android Tablet has 3G connectivity, along with Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth as it was in the case of the Pop 7. But there is difference in the battery as the Pop 8 packs a 4100 mAh battery unlike the 3240 mAh battery seen in the Pop 7.

Alcatel One Touch Pop 8 tablet is priced at Rs. 16,900 (199 Euros) and like the One Touch Pop 7 even this device will be available in the Europe, Africa and Middle East in the First quarter of 2014. The specification does not impress the present generation after watching all the new tablets in the market, but since it is reasonable and made for budget minded customers, this should me the choice for many people.
