The France-based smartphone manufacturer, Alcatel has been busy in the last couple of months as it has launched many smartphones from affordable to high-end category. Recently, a mid-range smartphone from the company called as Alcatel Flash 2 was spotted on GFXBench listing with specifications like Helio P10 SoC, 2GB RAM, 13MP camera and Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Today, the brand has launched a budget-friendly tablet in its Pop series called as Alcatel Pop 7 LTE through T-Mobile. The tablet comes with entry-level specifications and is also available at a cheap price tag of $129.99.
In terms of the specifications, the Alcatel Pop 7 LTE, flaunts a 7-inch IPS (1024×600 pixels) display that offers a pixel density of 169ppi and comes powered by Snapdragon 210 quad-core processor clocked at 1.1GHz clubbed with Adreno 304 GPU. It supports single sim single standby and runs on latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow based company’s customized UI overlaid. The Pop 7 LTE is one among the very few tablets that runs on the latest Android OS. It has 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 32GB.
On the camera front, the device comes equipped with a 5MP rear camera without any LED flash support and a 2MP front-facing camera for video chats and selfie images. The tablet supports 4G-LTE along with other basic connectivity options like 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. It comes powered by a 3240 mAh battery that the company claims is rated to deliver upto 17.5 days of standby time. The dimensions of the device measure 192 x 109.9 x 9.4 mm weighs around 294 grams and is available in White color option.
A quick recap, Alcatel has recently launched a new variant of the Alcatel Pop 3 called as Alcatel Pop 3 5.5 for the Philippines market priced at Php 6,299. The main selling point of the device is it comes with built-in Digital TV Tuner for the TV lovers who never want to miss their television programs. It features 5.5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 410 1.2GHz quad-core SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, 13MP main camera, 5MP front shooter, 2500mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
