The Asus Transformer Pad TF701T has got the Android 4.3 update already, 4 days before it was actually going to be available. The update was to be sent from 18th November but the update notes as well as the download is already out. This update is available on the Asus website and you can download it right away, as well as can check out the long list of changes that you would be seeing in this.
The Version V10.26.1.7 is available as two different SKUs:
- WW SKU (world wide)
- TW SKU (Taiwanese)
In addition to the main Android 4.3 update changes, the new ROM version would be bringing in some changes to the battery life, and improvements to the charging. Apart from this, there would be tweaks to the dock’s trackpad. Keep in mind that once you update the software of your Asus Transformer Pad, it cannot be downgraded or it cannot do any SKU conversion, so select the correct SKU based on your device and then update the software to the latest one.
How to check the Software version on Asus Transformer Pad?
You need to go to Settings > About Tablet > Build Number and here you will see the software version as WW_epad-10.X.X.X_2012xxxx and this WW means the Worldwide SKU.
How to update to Android 4.3 on Asus Transformer Pad?
Check the software version of the Transformer Pad as given above, and if it is an older version then you can update it by downloading the new firmware and update the version of SOP (Manual item has to be selected).
The Worldwide SKU software update is of size 1036.29MB and the one for Taiwanese SKU is 1039.89. These updates are available for download from the support site right now, but the actual date for the OTA update is still 18th November, so it is totally up to you – whether you decide to update it manually by downloading the 1GB-odd file or to wait and do it via the OTA option.
