Archos, a French smartphone maker, is known for making affordable smartphones. It is only a few weeks Archos announced two new budget smartphones named Archos Diamond S and Archos 50e Helium. Recently the company also introduced a tablet called Archos Diamond Tab with a 2K display and 3GB RAM and was priced only at $275. To fill the gap between the Diamond S and Diamond Tab, the company has recently unveiled a phablet sized new smartphone called Archos Diamond Plus.
Coming to the specifications, it uses a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920×1080) IPS display, and it comes powered by MediaTek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz alongside Mali T-720 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The device has 16GB onboard storage and microSD card support for expansion upto 32GB. The device comes packed with a 2850mAh battery and also supports fast charging and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
It sports a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper. It supports dual sim dual standby with 4G LTE connectivity and other basic connectivity options like Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port 2.0. The dimensions of the device measure 152.6 x 76.4 x 8.4mm and weighs 176 grams.
The device will roll out in November and is priced at £179.99 (around $275). Other details of the device will be unveiled by the company at IFA 2015 alongside Archos Diamond S, Archos 50e Helium, Archos Diamond Tab and a Windows based Archos 50 Cesium smartphone.
