The Lenovo Vibe S1 smartphone was expected to be announced in MWC 2015, but then its launch was postponed. Now, the Vibe S1 has been officially announced at IFA 2015 along with Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m. The Vibe S1 is a selfie-centric device and is the world’s first device with dual-front cameras.
“Selfies are now the most popular type of photos snapped on a smartphone, with over a million selfies taken a day, and 48% of that are shared on Facebook alone,” said Jerry Hsiao, Vice President of Lenovo. He also added “People expect more from their smartphones today. Capturing precious moments alone or with friends and family is not enough anymore. They want their selfies to stand out in their social media circles. We carefully listened to the consumers’ desires and designed the VIBE S1 based on those insights.”
Coming to the specifications, the Vibe S1 will sport a 5-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) display and will come powered by MediaTek MT6752 64-bit octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. The device has 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage with microSD card support for expansion upto 128GB.

It comes packed with a 2,420mAh battery that lasts upto 11 days in standby mode and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop based Vibe UI out of the box. The device has dual sim dual standby and connectivity includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB port 2.0
