Another EEE Pad Transformer Prime model i.e., TF201 announced during the CES 2012 is now available for purchase in Japan. Taiwan based Asustek manufactured of EEE Pad TF201 tablet has released this tablet in Japan market and it’s available for purchase online via their official site at shop.asus.co.jp.
Asus EEE Pad TF201 variant of Transformer Prime is a thinner, lighter and the world’s first quad core processor tablet. Its powered with NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor clocked at 1.4 Ghz. Users would have expected Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on this but they have to be satisfying them with Android 3.2.1 Honeycomb OS but never to be dissatisfied the ICS update will soon arrive for this tablet as the hardware is compatible. It features a 10.1 inches wide TFT color LCD display screen with Super IPS technology and LED backlight providing a maximum resolution of 1280 x 800 dots. The graphical acceleration is provided by NVIDIA GeForce ULP graphic accelerator and it consumes low power and adds 1 GB of RAM. As of now Asus is shipping this tablet with 64 GB internal storage capacity along with Asus web storage service offering 8 GB permanent free storage.
The tablet can be powered for continuous 12 hours of operation and 18 hours in power saving mode. Last but not the least it includes 8 mega pixel camera with autofocus and flash with f 2.4 aperture for the rear camera and 1.2 mega pixel camera on the front.
EEE Pad TF201 Price & Availability
Though Asus have listed EEE Pad TF201 for pre order and release date of this product is January 21, 2012, it’s clear that it’s just available for purchase. Yes you can pre order it now and delivery of the same will begin from January 21, 2012. Asus has listed this for a price of 69,800 yen which comes to $ 909 which I think is a hefty price for this tablet. There is no announcement from Asus about its availability worldwide in UK and United States, maybe will be soon here about the same. Keep following Android Advices.
