It was back in February 2013 when Asus PadFone Infinity with a 5-inch 1080p Display was announced, but now it’s newer version has come out, which includes a similar display and a better processor. The new Asus PadFone Infinity was launched in an event in Taipei, and the company had tipped about the same last week itself.
The new Padfone Infinity comes with the 5-inch Full HD display with the screen resolution 1290 x 1080 pixels, and it is an IPS display which is similar to the device launched earlier this year. The processor included in this one is a 2.2 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with the Adreno 330 GPU, and there is a 2GB LPDDR3 RAM included for the multitasking.
There’s a 13-megapixel rear camera with the LED flash, which can record videos at 1080p Full HD quality, and it’s a f/2.0 aperture while the front camera is a 2-megapixel one. There’s an app called PixelMaster which works for the rear camera to combine pixels and bring out a 3-megapixel image with sharper and brighter output quality. The device sound is powered by SonicMaster audio technology.
Padfone Station Dock – The second part of the device, i.e. the PadFone Dock is a 10.1 inch 1080p display, with the anti-fingerprint coating. There is no much difference you get to see with this dock when you compare it with the previous gen. infinity device. The Padfone Infinity has got the 4G LTE connectivity apart from the several other connectivity options which include the WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, aGPS and GLONASS. The battery capacity is good too in both the devices, with the 2000 mAh battery in the device, while the dock too has got a 5000 mAh capacity. The storage included is either 16GB or 32GB as an option, and one can expand it to 64GB with a MicroSD card.
The Padfone is priced at 18,990 New Taiwan Dollar (~US $640) while the Padfone Station is priced at 7,000 New Taiwan Dollar (~US $240).
