Update Nov 3, 2015: The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser was officially announced internationally by the company during the IFA 2015 event back in September. Now, the company has officially launched the 3GB RAM variant of the Zenfone 2 Laser in the U.S. market. The device is available for purchase via official Asus store, Amazon, B&H, Newegg and is priced at $199 off-contract for 16GB variant and $249 off-contract for the 32GB version.
Earlier Aug 6, 2015: Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is the latest device to feature laser auto focus which help to focus faster than the normal auto focus. The Zenfone 2 laser borrows the same design from the other Zenfone 2 devices and offers some cut-down specifications. The company want this to be an camera centric device with its 13MP rear camera with laser autofocus and a 5MP front camera. With the laser focus, the camera on this device can autofocus in just 0.3 second. It comes in three varinats priced at Rs.9,999, Rs.13,999, and Rs.15,999.
The device with model number ZE550KL comes in two different processor size, one with 64-bit Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor price at Rs.9,999, while other is powered by 64-bit Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor priced at Rs.13,999. Both these variants has the same 5.5-inch HD (1280×720) IPS display with Gorilla Glass 4 Protection. It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of Internal storage with microSD card support.
Connectivity on this device includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, Bluetooth and microUSB. The device measures 152.5 x 77.2 x 10.8 mm and weighs 170 grams. Along with these two variants, there is an other variant with model number ZE601KL comes at aprice of Rs.17,999, it comes with 6-inch display while the other specifications of the device are unknown.
