Asus Zenfone 5 that was announced at the CES early this year was released in April and now this device is releasing in India today at an event going on in Delhi, starting at Rs. 9,999 for the 8 GB model and the 16 GB model is priced at Rs. 10,999. This device is a dual SIM model that comes with a premium design with curved edges making it easier to operate with one hand.
Coming to the specification of device, the Asus Zenfone 5 has a 5 inch touch screen display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolutions with 294 ppi pixel and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a Dual core Intel Atom Z2580 / Z2560 chip set clocking at 2 GHz / 1.6 GHz coupled with PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU. The device runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean Operating System out of the box with the company’s own ZEN UI on top of it and the company also claims that the OS will be upgraded to Android KitKat soon.
The Asus Zenfone 5 will be available in 8 GB as well as in 16 GB models for with 1 GB and 2 GB RAM option is available. The on-board memory can be extended up to a maximum of 64 GB via microSD card slot. There is an 8 MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and capable of 1080 p video recording and it is accompanied with 2 MP camera on the front. The connectivity of the device includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot and is powered by a 2110 mAh Li-Po battery on the back.
The Asus Zenfone 5 is launched for Rs. 9,999 in India for the 8 GB variant and the 16 GB variant is at Rs. 10,999.
