Asus has been in the news for a while now about the launch of its flagship Asus Zenfone 3 series smartphones and is expected to be unveiled at an event scheduled for May 30th. Asus has recently released few variants of the Zenfone G0 called as Asus Zenfone Go 5.5 & Zenfone Go 4.5 LTE in various markets. Now, the company has made official yet another option named as Asus Zenfone Go TV in its home country. The smartphone comes with decent features and is priced at TWD 5490 (approx $169 / Rs. 11,250).
The main USP of the Asus Zenfone Go TV is it has a built-in SONY IC (SMT-EW100) chipset Digital TV (DTV) tuner with which you will never miss out on your favorite digital channels everywhere you go. The DTV tuner can receive hundreds of free-to-view digital terrestrial channels all over the world, and you do not require any internet connection to watch your local TV. Apart from this, the smartphone comes with all standard specifications required.
The Asus Zenfone Go TV flaunts a 5-inch (1280×720 pixels) HD TFT display offering a pixel density of 294ppi and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 laid on top of it for protection. Under the hood, the smartphone come equipped with 64-bit Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz clubbed with Adreno 305 GPU and 2GB of RAM for hassle free and smooth performance. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based ZenUI overlaid, and there is no information about the Android Marshmallow update
The device supports dual sim dual standby with 4G-LTE and other basic connectivity options like 2G/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS and microUSB 2.0 port. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for video chats and selfie lovers. The design is similar to other Asus devices with volume rockers placed on the back of the unit and power button on top edge.
It has 16GB/32GB of onboard storage options and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory upto 64GB. The smartphone comes backed by a 3010mAh battery that the company claims is rated to offer upto 335 hours of standby time. The dimensions of the device measure 151 x 76.9 x 10.7 and weighs around 160 grams. The Asus Zenfone Go TV comes in Charcoal Black, Pearl White, Lake Blue, Glacier Gray, Sheer Gold, Glamour Red, Floral Pink and Silver Blue color variants.
