The Miami-based manufacturer BLU introduced a new smartphone recently dubbed as Vivo Air LTE at CTIA in Las Vegas. According to BLU, Vivo Air LTE with a 5.1mm thin body and weight of 97 grams is the slimmest LTE handset to be launched in the United States.
The super sleek smartphone is the successor of Vivo Air that arrived in January. Built around an aluminum frame, BLU Vivo Air LTE looks similar to earlier launched BLU Vivo Air but comes with few upgraded features. The Vivo Air LTE comes powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and swaps off the MediaTek processor seen in the original.
The other specifications of the device are, It flaunts a 4.8-inch (1280×720) Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top of it. It sports an 8MP rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and a 5MP front-facing snapper for selfie-clicks. The device has 16GB onboard storage with no microSD card support and comes backed by a 2050mAh battery. As earlier said it supports 4G-LTE connectivity and runs on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box with a planned upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in Q1 2016.
It also includes other necessary connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB 2.0. The smartphone will be available starting September 22 exclusive via Amazon priced at $199 and will be available in colors – Black, White.
BLU also launched a new high-end smartphone dubbed as Pure XL with 6-inch 2K display, MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, 3GB RAM, 24MP rear camera, fingerprint sensor, 4G-LTE connectivity and 3500mAh battery. This device will also be available exclusively via Amazon starting from September 29 in Black and Gold color variants priced at $350.
