Byond has launched a new smartphone in the Android range, with the Byond B66 having a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen and the Dual-SIM support. The B66 is a neat looking device coming in Black and White colors, and the large touch display is supported by some good internal specs and features to make it a decent mid-range Android smartphone. Packed within the phone, there is a 1.2GHz processor backed by 512MB of RAM, and the device has got an internal memory of 4GB, while the screen resolution is not that great, with the 480 x 800 pixels resolution.
The OS included in the Byond B66 is Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, and it has got the Dual-SIM capability, where both the SIM cards support connecting to the 3G networks for the data network connectivity, and both the SIM cards would be active on the stand-by mode. The storage although is internally limited to 4GB, there is an option to expand the same to 32GB using a MicroSD card. There are two cameras included in the B66, where the 8-megapixel rear camera has the autofocus and a flash, while the front camera is of VGA quality, for the video calling.
The B66 has got several connectivity options that include the 3G data network connectivity, Wi-Fi with the b/g/n standards, Bluetooth and there is a GPS locator embedded in it. There’s a 3.5mm headset jack, and the phone includes the FM Radio and there is an option to record the FM radio streaming too. The phone packs in itself a good 2600 mAh battery which can provide many hours of talktime or few for web browsing on the Wi-Fi or 3G network. The phone is priced at Rs. 11,499 in the Indian market, and with the flurry of smartphones entering the Android phone market in the recent times, Byond has made it sure to keep itself on the better side with a good battery, the connectivity and a neat processor added to the 5-inch screen.
