The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Cubot has launched a new smartphone dubbed as Cubot X17 in China. The device is already available for purchase in the country and is priced at $170. The X17 is the successor of Cubot X15 that launched earlier this year and is an upgrade in every aspect.
Talking about its specifications, the Cubot X17 features a 5-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Full-HD IPS display with 2.5D arc glass on top of it. The smartphone comes equipped with MediaTek MT6735 64-bit quad-core processor accompanied with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card slot.
On the photographic section, the device sports a 16MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, dual LED flash and an 8MP front-facing shooter with f/2.2 aperture, 88-degree wide angles for video calling and perfect selfie images. The camera of the device comes with a set of unique features like Pic in Pic (PIP) mode, Live Photos, gesture capture and smile shot. It supports dual sim dual standby and comes with a hybrid sim slot that can be used as a microSD card slot instead of the second sim.
The handset comes backed by a 2500mAh battery and includes connectivity options like 4G-LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS and a microUSB port. The smartphone sports premium looks as it is just 6.1mm thick and comes with a metallic frame around the device. Additionally it also includes other features like HotKnot, Air Shuffle and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based customized UI out of the box.
