Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4X & PocketSurfer 3G4Z Launched at Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 3,999

Datawind, known for launching low-cost Aakash tablets has today launched two new entry-level smartphones in its PocketSurfer series called as Datawind PocketSurfer 2G4X and PocketSurfer 3G4Z in India. The smartphones are the upgrades over the 2G4 and 3G4 that launched last year in March 2015. The 2G4X and 3G4Z are priced at Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 3,999 respectively and also come bundled with unlimited internet browsing for one year for Reliance and Telenor pre-paid customers.

The PocketSurfer 2G4X is the most basic device and also features low-end specifications. The smartphone sports 3.5-inch (320×480 pixels) display and comes powered by Cortex A5 1GHz processor. It comes with 256MB, 512MB of internal storage and also supports microSD card slot for expansion upto 32GB. The device supports dual sim dual standby and runs on older Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box. The device sports VGA front and rear cameras and comes with basic connectivity options like 2G EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB port.

PocketSurfer 3G4Z

The PocketSurfer 3G4Z sports 4-inch (480×800 pixels) WVGA display offering a pixel density of 233ppi. Under the hood, it packs single-core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1GHz paired with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of built-in storage and microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB. On the camera part, the smartphone sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera for selfie images. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box. The device comes with standard connectivity options like 2G/3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB 2.0 port.
