Microsoft has finally rolled out the most awaited Office 365 product for Android platform and is now available for download. Though this is only rolled out for smartphones as of now, we just hope that very soon it will also be also available for tablets. It was just few days back when we saw the launch of Office 365 for iOS platform. For signing into this app or for using this app, you will have to make sure that you have the valid Office 365 subscription to view or edit the documents. As of now there is no FREE version which is made available by Microsoft.
Just like the iPhone version, this device will allow you to edit the Word and Excel documents and Microsoft is still optimizing the Word, Excel and Powerpoint apps. Though the Android tablet version of this app might get delayed, Microsoft wants users to rely on Office Web Apps till it comes out with the app for tablets. The documents on this app can be edited, formatted with the text and also the comments can be added which means that only basic formatting options will be available with Bold, Italics and font color options can be changed.
All the documents will be stored in the Microsoft’s SkyDrive of whose the name will soon be changed as Microsoft just today lost the case with Sky Broadcasting for the usage of “Sky” in its products. There’s not a lot of settings included, with the simple ability to change your name that’s associated with document comments.
The only difference between the Android and IOS version is that there is no option to purchase the Office 365 subscription within the app which is replaced with the sign in which required to have an active subscription. Do let us know on what you think about this Office 365 subscription in the comments section below. You can download the Office 365 below;
