What was just an external feature earlier, is now picked up by the makers of the App who have made the Voice messaging an integral feature of WhatsApp where they can push to talk and send the voice recording to the friend they desire to, and this is something that was available on the WeChat app as the main feature. This could bring back many users to Whatsapp, who had migrated to the other apps because of the lack of voice message sending in it.
How to Send Voice Message on Whatsapp?
The latest update comes with the voice message sending, and here is how you can do the voice message recording and sending:
- On the chat page, you would notice a Microphone icon just beside the text area which you had to hit to type the message
- Tap and hold the microphone icon to start the recording, it would start after you hold for a second and the recording ends as soon as you lift your finger
- Once the finger is lifted, the recorded voice gets sent instantly, but if you choose to cancel the recording at any point of time, you just need to swipe the finger to the left and it gets canceled.
Jan Koum, WhatsApp CEO, said that the Push to Talk feature in Whatsapp would help those who have a lot of difficulty in sending text messages by typing, and where a language in typing is a major issue on their smartphone. The voice sending feature of WhatsApp has been there on several chat clients but Whatsapp has got a user base of millions, and this feature being rolled out would make it a very active app again.
