Fix Random Reboot on Verizon OG HTC Droid Incredible Post Firmware Update

For those who still own the original HTC Droid Incredible (Verizon), its time to take it out and dust it off as we have some good news for you.  HTC is now pushing out an Over-The-Air (OTA) update to your phone that seems to contain fixes for some of the issues that you might be experiencing. Though it has been nearly 3 years since the phone’s release, it is welcoming and also slightly surprising too see Verizon and HTC still working to release new updates for such an old device.

This specific update is not a major one and seems to mainly address the random reboot bug the Incredible owners have been experiencing since their 2.3 Gingerbread update over an year ago. There isn’t an official change log or a list of new features available yet, but we can say that the random reboot bug has been fixed with certainty. Your phone will still be running Android 2.3 after the update, but under a new software version 4.08.605.19 which should hopefully make the phone more smoother and stable. The update package is also small sizing about 4.2MB and can be downloaded easily via WiFi and installed. The news has been verified by many people who have installed the update and seems have first originated from the Android Central Forums.

The update should have arrived already for your device, but if it hasn’t, just go ahead and check for it manually in settings. If you have updated the phone and find something new other than the random reboot fix, please feel free to let us know in the comments.
