Freedom 251 is the ‘India’s Cheapest Smartphone’ Launched at Rs. 251

Ringing Bells the relatively new Indian smartphone manufacturer recently launched the cheapest 4G handset called as Smart 101 in India priced at Rs. 2,999. Today, the company as earlier announced has launched the India’s most affordable smartphone called as Freedom 251 and is priced at Rs. 251/$3.6. As earlier said, the smartphone was launched in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of “empowering India to the last person, transforming India’s growth story.” Even at this cheapest price tag, the Freedom 251 comes with some impressive specifications which no other company offers and can be purchased by every person without costing much to their pockets.

Coming to the specifications part, the Freedom 251 flaunts a 4-inch (960×540 pixels) qHD IPS display offering a pixel density of 275ppi. Under the hood, it comes powered by unspecified quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz clubbed with 1GB of RAM for lag-free and smooth performance. It supports dual sim dual standby and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It has 8GB of internal storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion upto 32GB.

The smartphone sports a 3.2MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP front shooter with touchless technology to capture perfect selfie images. It comes with basic connectivity options like 2G/3G HSPA+, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port. The handset is backed by a 1450mAh battery that can easily take you through the day considering the low-end specifications. The smartphone comes pre-loaded with many useful apps like Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Fisherman, Farmer, Medical, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube and other Google Apps.

The Freedom 251 comes in White color variant and will be available for order via Freedom251.com starting Feb 18th from 6 AM. It will be interesting to see how will the company reach its targeted users that mostly includes the niche and the rural consumers.
