The Japan-based Freetel is the relatively new smartphone manufacturer and is known for launching affordable handsets. The company announced that it will enter into the US and Europe markets at the CES 2016 event in January. Now, the brand has officially announced a new smartphone in its Samurai lineup called as Freetel Rei for its the United States and European audience at the ongoing MWC 2016 event in Barcelona.

The Freetel Rei features premium looks with all-metal unibody design and sports a unique aluminum back cover with a diamond cut aluminum edge. The smartphone mostly resembles the Apple’s iPhone 6s but with less rounded edges. The handset also sports a physical home button on the front with an integrated fingerprint sensor for enhanced security. The Rei flaunts a 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixels) full-HD display offering a pixel density of 424ppi and Gorilla Glass laid on top of it for protection.
Under the hood, it comes powered by unspecified octa-core processor clubbed with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage and also includes a microSD card slot for further expansion of memory. On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera with PDAF for faster focus, dual LED flash and an 8MP front snapper for video chats and selfie lovers. A 2800mAh battery backs the handset and it runs on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The Freetel Rei comes in four color options and will be available in Japan and the US in Q2 of 2016.
